Strategize to Achieve more Times than you fail

There is two definitions under the word strategy in the Miriam-Websters Dictionary. The first definition says that strategy is the science and art of military command aimed at meeting the enemy under conditions advantageous to one’s own force. I really like that definition because it describes a way of positioning yourself to achieve the upper hand at the battle you are in. The second definition is a careful plan or method for achieving an end. Life is all about timing and opportunities. You should always position yourself to have the upper hand at any opportunity that you have. If you have given yourself this awesome positioning, then you will find yourself having great timing in every opportunity that you have in your life. Strategize your way through life and you will find yourself achieving more than when you fail. When you do find yourself in a position where you failed, learn from it and try again with a better strategy. If you have a sound strategy for anything you are doing in your life, you will find yourself succeeding more than you fail. I really like my odds when I have an awesome strategy, I know you will too. Get your strategy for 2009 ready and make it happen now.

When you have a clear and vivid picture of what goals you want to achieve, you are so much further ahead of the pack. How can you know where to go, if you don’t know where your destination is? Goals are like your road map to life. Here are some questions to help you achieve great outcomes this year.

Self Improvement Goals

1. What new knowledge would I like to learn this year?

2. What new skills would I like to learn this year?

4. What new character qualities would I like to possess this year?

5. How do I want my relationships to be like this year?

Career and Financial Goals

Do this now, don’t let the tranquilizing drug of procrastination get you.

Creating Goal Momentum

Creating goal momentum will make your goals easier to achieve. When you wake up everyday, the very first question you need to ask yourself is, “What  actions can I take today that will get me closer to achieving my desired goals?” Each day of your life should be focused on achieving your desired goals. We should never waste any time on anything that is going to move us backwards in our lives. We should always be striving to move forward to achieving our goals. How do we do this? We do this by taking the necessary actions required for the manifestation of our goals. Big actions towards our goals are always great, but even several small actions will get us closer to achieving our goals. Rome was not built in one day, and achieving our goals won’t be achieved in one day either. As long as you spend everyday taking action towards your goals, you will be creating goal momentum. The beauty of creating momentum is that the more you build, the stronger the force. It is like a giant snowball rolling down Mt. Everest, it gets bigger, stronger, and faster by the moment. Your goals are the same. Develop an action plan for everyday that will get you closer to achieving your desired goals. This will turn you into an unstoppable force that will ultimately lead you to the success that you desire. Before I go to sleep, I take a notecard and write down my daily goals for the next day. I place the most important goals towards the top and work my way down. Every time you scratch off one of your goals, it gives you a confidence like you wouldn’t believe. Talk about creating momentum? This is a great way to build momentum. Begin writing your daily goals now. If HoomanCan I know you can.

If you Couldn’t Fail, What Would you try to Achieve?

What if you knew that no matter what you did in life, you couldn’t fail? Would that change your mindset towards achieving? Would you approach life with a confidence that you never had before? Would you attempt to do things that you wouldn’t dare try before? You bet you would. However, the fear of failure holds so many people back from achieving the greatness they were destined for. Fear of failure often prevents people from even trying to achieve. I want you to look at failure completely different from the way you look at it now. I want you to look at failure as just an outcome. If you don’t get the outcome you are looking for then you just change your approach and try again until you get the outcome you are looking for. Look at failure as your friend, because you learn from your failures. Henry Ford said, “Win or learn, there is no failure.” Use failure as a stepping stone and not a stumbling block. Each failure is an opportunity to begin again more intelligently. Each failure gets you closer to achieving the results that you desire. Over time so many people have been so close to achieving their goals but they gave up at the last minute, don’t be like these people. Don’t get intimidated by failure, get motivated by failure. Get excited about your failures because at least you are achieving a result. This way you are always successful at getting results. Learn from it and try again with a better approach. You must never quit trying, no one who has achieved great success went through life without failing several times. Failure is just a part of the process of achieving greatness. Failure is only bad when you accept it as your final outcome. So from this point on, look at failure totally differently, look at it as an outcome. Keep changing your approach until you get the outcome that you desire. Stay committed to achieving your goals with a relentless pursuit and I can assure you will always achieve anything you desire. Always look at failure the same way that Henry Ford did, as a learning experience, making you a better and stronger person. Never forget the awesome words of Henry Ford, “Win or learn, there is no failure.”

Outlook for 2009… Decide what you want and make it Happen

Today is the first day of the new year. We all have to focus on making great things happen this year. It isn’t going to be easy, in fact achieving anything big never is easy to achieve. We have been here before as a nation, and we will rise up again. Now is the time to put your creative thinking hats on. You need to ask yourself empowering questions like, “What can I do to make this year better than ever?” “What can I do to achieve the goals that I desire?” Staying focused and positive in tough times is super important. We need to make sure that our thoughts are empowering because all experiences in our lives are a direct result of our dominating thoughts. Our thoughts become our realities. We are what we think, so that is why we only want to focus on the best thoughts possible. Make sure you never let a negative thought into your head, I cant stress this enough. Bad thoughts equal bad feelings, good thoughts equal good feelings. This is your precious life, you don’t have time to waste on negative thinking, that means no gossip, no jealousy, only think of powerful and inspiring thoughts. Let the negative people do your negative thinking for you. Look forward to the future with excitement and enthusiasm. You are the creator of your future, the quality of your life is entirely up to you. Don’t do anything during the day unless it is going to get you one step closer to achieving your goals. Don’t associate with anyone negative because they are going to bring you down. Decide what you really want from this year and take massive action to go after it. You can achieve anything you desire, so get passionate about this year, get passionate about your life, and go out there and make it happen.

Overcome Your Fears by Facing them Head on

John F. Kennedy said, “The only thing that we have to fear is fear itself.” A friend of mine once told me that fear stands for forget everything and run. I thought what he said was very funny. Unfortunately, many people do exactly that, they avoid their fears. People have different fears. Some people are scared to fly in airplanes, some people are afraid to open up their own business, while others might be afraid to swim. The bottom line is people all over the world have fears.

I have always been afraid of roller coasters and thrill rides. I have no idea how it started but since my youth, I have been terrified of these thrill rides. When I was in high school, my friends and I would go to Walt Disney World. My friends would make fun of me because I would be screaming on rides like Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. I would never go to Busch Gardens with them because they had all the big roller coasters there. My friends wanted to see me scared so bad that they would offer to pay my way if I went with them. Space Mountain was the biggest coaster I had ever been on. I know you thrill park maniacs are laughing right now because Space Mountain is considered very tame compared to all of the new thrill rides of today. I have always wanted to ride them but for some strange reason I was just scared to death.

When I started to listen to motivational speakers about eleven years ago, they would talk about overcoming your fears. Listening to this wisdom helped me over the years in the business world. I would never be afraid to take on risks in the business world. This made me very successful at whatever I chose to do. I loved challenges, no matter how big they were. Challenges always got me very excited, they would motivate me to achieve, no matter how difficult the task ahead of me was. Humans have an awesome ability to overcome challenges and adversity. People have been known to do incredible things when they were in danger. We have an amazing ability to achieve. That is how we are programed. Many of us can get in our own way of our achievements because we are scared of the outcomes. That makes us our own worst enemies. So many people are afraid to take risks.

How do we Overcome this?

The only way to overcome our fears is by facing them head on. We have to build up the courage and just do it. Ever since 1994 when Disney open its attraction the “Tower of Terror” and I always told myself I wouldn’t ride that if you paid me 100,000 dollars. I honestly thought that my heart would stop. This is the free fall simulation ride that drops you from a 13 story free fall then pulls you back up only to drop you again. The total ride is anywhere from 3-5 drops depending on a random computer sequence that gives you a different experience every time you ride it. I wouldn’t ever consider this ride before I started my career as a motivational speaker. However, I don’t like to tell my readers to do something unless I would do it myself. I knew that my fear of thrill rides was just a matter of mind over matter.

I got to Disney Hollywood Studios where the ride is located, where it stands at 199 feet tall. Just looking at the building was enough to scare me, but I knew what I was there for, I was there to overcome my fear of thrill rides. I was no longer going to be scared because I was going to overcome my fears. I walked around a little bit and tried to avoid it, but I knew I had to do it. I wasn’t ever going to back down from a thrill ride again. I got in line and there I was, at the point of no return. I couldn’t believe I was going to ride the “Tower of Terror”. I was going to ride something that I had been terrified of for the last fourteen years. I got strapped in and there was this calm that came over me because I knew I was achieving something. It wasn’t long before we got going. Up and down and up and down, it was so intense I couldn’t believe it. It dropped so fast that I would rise off my seat, then it would pull you back up to drop you again. When the ride was over, I felt awesome. I knew I had done something that I always thought I would never do. I couldn’t believe how much fun it was. Now I am looking to try every thrill ride in town with an enthusiasm I thought was impossible for me. I felt so awesome all day knowing I had overcome my biggest fear. Was I scared, you bet I was scared. When we get scared our body gives us the courage to handle it, we just have to have the faith in ourselves.

I am encouraging you to face your fears head on. You are not on earth for a long time, you are here for a good time, so just do it. Really consider the words “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” It was so rewarding for me to overcome my fear. I want everyone to feel that feeling. You really can achieve anything you want, if you just want it bad enough. Do something you have always been afraid to do but face it with the mindset that you are not afraid. It will help you overcome any obstacle in your life.

Want To Change Your Life? Take A Good Look At Your Life To See What Is Missing?

Have you taken a real good look at your life lately? Are you where you want to be in your career? Are you in the relationship that you have always dreamed of? Are you happy with the way you are living? With the new year just days away, it is the perfect time to take a good deep look at your life. Make sure you are totally honest with yourself when you do. If you are not living the life of your dreams, don’t make excuses on why you failing, make a commitment to change. Make a dedicated commitment to change your life so you can start living the way you have always dreamed of. It is never too late for anyone to achieve their dreams. I don’t care how many times you have failed up to now. I don’t care how many people have told you that you would never make it. What I care about is the way that you see your future. What I care about is your mindset. Do you believe in yourself, or is your limiting beliefs stopping you from being successful? Now is the time to reset your mind to believe that you can do achieve anything you desire. Take control of your future by focusing on the most empowering thoughts. Your thoughts will shape your life. With empowering thoughts, you can achieve anything you desire. If your thoughts are negative, your life will be negative and you will fail repeatedly. In 2009, I want you to never let a negative thought enter your head again. Change your future by changing you first. Take control of your life now. Make a commitment to yourself that you will strive for constant and never ending improvement. Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to stay focused on the great outcomes of your future. Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to take the necessary actions everyday until you make your dreams come true. Make a commitment to yourself that you are never going to give up until you get the results you desire. There is no difference between the abilities of human beings, we are all created equal. What separates the achievers from the rest of the world is that they didn’t give up when they failed, they stayed flexible in their approaches until they achieved their goals. They stayed committed to their cause, when the weak just couldn’t handle the failure. The achievers focused on their future, while the others couldn’t let go of the past. You have a new year coming up, take a good look at yourself. What changes will you have to make to make your dreams come true? What is missing that is keeping you from being successful? What could you do different to get the results that you desire? Are you going to make your dreams come true, or are you going to live with the regret that you didn’t give your life the effort that your life needed? Now is the time to make the changes that are holding you back. Now is the time for you to make it happen. Keep your eyes on the prize and make sure you give it everything you got. Remember, Henry Ford said, “Whether you believe you can, or whether you believe you can’t you are right.”

6 Steps To Making Good Decisions

Make Only The Best Decisions

Wouldn’t you like to make the best decisions all the time? The quality of your life will depend on your ability to make the right decisions at the right times. How do you make all the right decisions, 100% of the time? You can’t do that, its impossible to make the right decisions 100% of the time. What you can do is become a master at the art of decision making so you will make more right decisions than wrong ones. Research has shown that highly successful people usually make their decisions quick and they are reluctant to change their minds once they have made their decisions. The opposite side is the people who regularly fail. These people normally take a long time to make a decision and are frequently changing their minds.

Why are successful people so good at making decisions? Successful people make good decisions because they don’t make situations more complicated than they really are. They have faith in their abilities to achieve. They focus on the most important factors of their situation. This focus on the most important factor usually gives them great results when making decisions, They break their big decisions down into mini-decisions. This gives them an opportunity to turn the big decisions into several smaller decisions. They visualize all the good outcomes their decision can bring, instead of focusing on all the negative outcomes that are possible. The bottom-line is that good decisions come from disciplined thinking and experience. The more decisions you make, the better you will get at making the right decisions. Don’t be afraid to make decisions, look at them as an opportunity to shine. Remember the greatest risk is the one you don’t take, so don’t be afraid of making the wrong decision. Get excited about making the right decision.

Steps To Making Great Decisions

1. Focus on the most important factor of your decision. In almost all decisions, there is usually one really important factor to the decision. Focus your efforts on that important detail and your choice will become so much easier to make.

2. Make big decisions into several smaller decisions. When a decision looks like too much to handle, break that big decision into several small decisions. After you make all the smaller decisions, the big decision will be made for you.

3. Take into consideration all the good outcomes that will come out of you making your decision. Decision makers get inspired by the positive outcomes that their decision will bring them. The excitement from the outcomes of your decision will keep your focus where it needs to be. Don’t focus on the negative possibilities of your decision.

4. Take the necessary actions required to make your decision a success. Don’t decide to do something and then fail to take the action required to make it happen. Focus your efforts on making your decision successful. Don’t talk about making it happen, take massive action to make it happen.

5. Keep your decision making process as simple as possible. This is a habit so many people are guilty of. You don’t want to get paralysis by over analysis. KEEP IT SIMPLE SILLY (KISS). Some decision makers put so many scenarios out there that they confuse themselves. Only focus on the scenarios that you have to do right to make your decision a success.

6. Consider all of your options. Don’t be a know it all. Good decision makers are not too proud to consult with someone else. Consult with people who have more experience about the subject than you do. Ask them what they would consider if they were in the same situation? Their knowledge and insight will show you different perspectives and different options that may completely change what you were thinking. Don’t get crazy and get 30 different opinions because you will probably put yourself in a position of indecision, which will probably lead you down the wrong path.

Follow these steps and over time you will master the art of decision making.
